Kennedy International School offers a unique French-English bilingual education for students from Pre-K 3 to 12th grade in Midtown East, two blocks from Grand Central and close to the United Nations. The New York State and French Ministry of Education curricula are taught simultaneously in a 50/50 English/French academic structure.

By integrating aspects of the French, Japanese, and American educational systems, we offer a balanced bilingual program from preschool to 12th grade that isfollows the guidelines of the French Ministry of Education, the Japanese Ministry of Education and New York State Next Generation Learning Standards. In Preschool, our bilingual program is designed to teach young students in two languages and help develop their early language and academic skills by exposing them to both languages in a natural and immersive way. Our program uses a fifty-fifty approach: students spend 2.5 days immersed in either French or Japanese, and the other 2.5 days in English. In our Lower School, 1st to 5th Grade also use a fifty-fifty approach, where students spend 2.5 days immersed in the French language and the other 2.5 days in the English language. At the Upper School, our program emphasizes the development and usage of analytical skills across all subject areas to prepare students for college and the professional world. Our 6th to 10th Grade curriculum follows the complete program from the French Ministry of Education and the New York State Education Department, with students spending 75% of their time immersed in French and 25% in English. Our 11th and 12th Grades follow the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program curriculum which is widely recognized by 2,000+ universities in 100+ countries worldwide. Many universities offer advanced placement, scholarships, and/or other incentives for IB students.
