Experience an elegant evening of Viennese music, dining, desserts, and dancing at the Embassy of Austria in Washington, DC. The annual Viennese Ball brings the atmosphere of a traditional European ball to one of Washington's diplomatic venues, welcoming both couples and guests attending on their own.

The Salon Orchestra of Washington provides live music throughout the evening, performing beloved Strauss waltzes along with polka, tango, swing, and other ballroom favorites. Guests will also have an opportunity to take part in the traditional Strauss Fledermaus Quadrille, a fixture of major Viennese balls.

Benefactor admission begins at 7:00 PM and includes a dinner buffet featuring Austrian specialties and a sparkling wine reception. General admission begins at 8:30 PM, followed by dancing, an elaborate European dessert reception, and live orchestral music through the evening.

White tie or black tie attire is requested, although dark suits are also acceptable, and vintage formal attire is welcome. Guests must be 21 or older. Viennese waltz lessons are offered at the embassy on the evening before the ball for those who would like to prepare for the dance floor.
