Through Layers is a solo exhibition by contemporary Argentine artist Alexandra Arata, exploring the relationship between memory, perception, and the passage of time through layered visual compositions.
Drawing upon techniques that combine texture, transparency, and overlapping forms, Arata creates works that invite viewers to look beyond the surface. Each piece reveals multiple visual narratives, encouraging reflection on how personal experiences and collective histories are built through accumulated layers.
The exhibition highlights the artist's interest in transformation and hidden structures, using color, light, and material contrasts to create depth and movement. As viewers move through the gallery, subtle details emerge, offering new interpretations from different perspectives.
This opening reception provides an opportunity to meet the artist, experience the exhibition in an intimate setting, and engage with contemporary Argentine art in the heart of New York City.
