The Guggenheim presents the first major U.S. exhibition in decades devoted to German artist Gabriele Münter, a pivotal figure of early 20th‑century modernism. Spanning her career from the pre‑Expressionist years through her time with the Der Blaue Reiter circle and beyond, the show features around sixty paintings and early photographs — including images she captured during a U.S. trip around 1898–1900. The exhibition explores Münter's bold use of color and expressive forms, highlighting her enduring contribution to modern art and revisiting her visual language in a contemporary context.
