Panel Discussion: Women Artists at the Art Museum of the Americas

About this Event

In celebration of International Women's Day, this panel will focus on roles of and challenges faced by women artists and curators in the Americas, and will critique and evaluate the general efforts AMA is making to amplify the voices of women artists and curators.

AMA proudly presents the panel Women Artists at the Art Museum of the Americas. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we invite you to join us for an engaging conversation with Dominican multimedia artists Scherezade García and iliana emilia García, United States landscape artist Freya Grand, and independent curators Hilary Pierce Hatfield and Olga Ulloa Herrera. The panelists will discuss the important roles of women artists at the OAS AMA dating back to its earliest days of exhibiting and collecting, developing through the present day. Attendees will be encouraged to join in the conversation, and to visit the current exhibitions DIALOG: Landscape and Abstraction | Freya Grand and AMA’s Permanent Collection and Visual Memory: Home + Place (Scherezade García and iliana emilia García), with the artists on hands.
