Several contemporary Swedish choreographers are featured in the program In The Works at La MaMa La Galleria on January 12 and 13: Shirley Harthey Ubilla; QUARTO (Anna af Sillén de Mesquita and Leandro Zappala); and the Make Hay While The Sun Shines project (featuring Stina Nyberg, Iréne Monti Hultman, Maria Naidu and Katy Pyle). In The Works is a forum by and for independent artists to share work with presenters, funders and colleagues in a relaxed and artist-centered setting. The program is presented and produced by Meredith Boggia Productions (Brooklyn) and Magnus Nordberg Movement (Stockholm). Free admission with RSVP.

Performing artists and presenters from Sweden and the U.S. will gather for an open discussion on Proud Performing Arts at Scandinavia House on January 14. Proud Performing Arts is a global initiative working to empower, encourage and elevate performing arts with LGBTQIA perspectives. Participants include Ulricha Johnson, Emilya Cachapero, Sean Dorsey, Beatrice L Thomas, Shirley Harthey Ubilla and Kevin Seaman.
