Sweden Makes Music at
Baby's All Right
 

Swedish artists Mapei, Elias, Morabeza Tobacco, Le Sinner and DJ Clea will perform live at Sweden Makes Music 2019, the annual pop music event at Baby’s All Right in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, on December 17. The evening is curated by Luger and presented by the Consulate General of Sweden in New York and Export Music Sweden. The event is free but RSVP is required.

Helsingborgs Motettkör at Carnegie Hall

The Swedish chamber choir Helsingborgs Motettkör will join singers from Australia, Kuwait, India, Hong Kong, Dubai, Canada and the United States to present Händel’s Messiah, conducted by maestro Jonathan Griffith at Carnegie Hall on December 1.

Swedish artists Goldin+Senneby present their first-ever US solo exhibition, Insurgency of Life, curated by Maria Lind, at e-flux on Manhattan’s Lower East Side on December 6. The opening will also feature a talk with the artists.

In Flames at Sony Hall
The globally acclaimed Swedish metal band In Flames recently released their thirteenth studio album and return to New York for a show at Sony Hall on December 8.

Swedish artist Marie Karlberg presents a new solo exhibition, Illusion and Reality, at Tramps on the Lower East Side, opening on December 11.

Unga Klara at New Victory Theater
Unga Klara, Sweden’s renowned national theater for children and young people, presents their innovative performance Because I Say So, at the New Victory Theater on 42nd Street. The show is intended for children aged 3-5 and will run from December 12 to 22.

Faithless at Scandinavia House
Scandinavia House presents Faithless, a feature film directed by Liv Ullmann from a screenplay by Ingmar Bergman, on December 13. The film is loosely based on the legendary Swedish director’s own experiences of adultery, and stars Lena Endre, Erland Josephson, Krister Henriksson and Thomas Hanzon.
