Die Wandervögel is a one-of-a-kind musical quartet of versatile instrumental and vocal performers, rekindling old, nearly-forgotten songs from the 17th to the 20th century of German, Austrian and Yiddish origins. The ACF Washington is delighted to welcome the four young Austrian musicians to Washington, DC, and to fill our halls with their poetic tunes.
For this year’s International Human Rights Day and the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights we have two special guests. The ACF Washington is honored to present Gerfried Stocker, Artistic Director of Ars Electronica, and Peter Fatelnig, Minister Counsellor for Digital Economy Policies of the EU Delegation to the US, who will talk about technological advancement and its possible impact on our intrinsic human rights.

In its 31st year, this year’s edition of the AFI European Union Film Showcase at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center highlights 49 films from 25 EU member states, including award winners, debut works by up-and-coming talents and many more. Austria will be present with the three feature films The Waldheim Waltz,Angelo and Joy as well as three Austrian co-productions Styx, Icemen and The Interpreter.
