NORDIC OSCAR CONTENDERS: THIS JANUARY 
AT SCANDINAVIA HOUSE


This January, Scandinavia House will be screening films chosen by Nordic countries to compete for the Oscar nomination in the 2018 Best Foreign Language film, including selections from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, as well as Estonia and Latvia. This year's picks range from high-speed thrillers to black comedies to supernatural love stories, and include highly acclaimed films such as The Guilty (Denmark, 2018), winner of the Audience Award in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival, on January 3; Woman at War (Iceland, 2018), winner of the Nordic Council's Film Prize, on January 9Border (Sweden, 2018), winner of Un Certain Regard at Cannes Film Festival, on January 16; and What Will People Say, winner of multiple Amanda Awards and a New York Times Critic's Pick, on January 18.

This series will also include the New York premieres of Euthanizer (Finland, 2018), a best script winner at the Jussi Awards and Tokyo International Film Festival, on January 4To Be Continued (Latvia, 2018) on January 8; and Take It Or Leave It (Estonia, 2018).
