The exhibition, "Eternity and a Moment: Architecture as a Tool of National Identity," displays Polish architecture in the years 1918-1939 during Poland's period of independence. It displays the ways in which the country, after 123 years of captivity, was represented by modernist architecture. Some of the buildings and objects were destroyed during the II World War so these images remain the only visual documentation.

Dr. Aneta Krzemien Barkley, a researcher and art curator and currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Smithsonian Institution will discuss this period of architecture with an emphasis on how it reflects the manner in which the Polish people wanted their newly independent country recognized.
