CANOVA E LA DANZA

The exhibition "Canova e la Danza" presents sixteen tempera paintings, made between 1799 and 1806, by the great Italian artist Antonio Canova, a premier for the American public and on view, for the first time, following their recent restoration.  The paintings are a loan from the Gipsoteca e Museo Canova, (Canova Museum and Plaster Casts Gallery), in Possagno (Treviso) and the exhibit is curated by Mario Guderzo, director of the Museum. 
 
 
On view until June 28, 2018

VISCONTI'S RETROSPECTIVE
 
Following successful collaborations on retrospectives of Marcello Mastroianni (2017) and Anna Magnani (2016), the Film Society of Lincoln Center and Istituto Luce Cinecittà join forces once again to co-present Visconti, a complete retrospective of Italian filmaker Luchino Visconti's feature films, most of them premiering in new restorations and rare imported prints, followed by a week-long run of a new 35mm print of his 1973 historical masterpiece Ludwig.

The New York Prize brings promising emerging Italian artists to New York for a residency at the ISCP Gallery (International Studio and Curatorial Program) in Brooklyn, with the support of the Italian Academy, the Italian Cultural Institute in New York, and MAECI and MiBACT.
 
The winners present their works with the exhibition: Inches, Feet, Verse, Metre.
