The Music of Karl Jenkins at Carnegie Hall

 

DCINY honors UK composer Sir Karl Jenkins with an evening comprised of both new and lauded compositions by the honoree. The performance is conducted by Jonathan Griffith, DCINY Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, and features Distinguished Concerts Orchestra and Distinguished Concerts Singers International made up of singers from eight countries including Germany. Germans Films at the New York Jewish Film Festival

 

This year’s New York Jewish Film Festival at the Film Society of Lincoln Center features the New York premieres of an eclectic group of films in German. From the contemporary love story Der Kuchenmacher, to Claus Räfle and Jörg Widmer’s suspenseful Die Unsichtbaren, the festival showcases contemporary German talent from January 11 through 23, 2018.

Musica Viva NY Presents “Reintroducing Seymour”

 

"Reintroducing Seymour" will feature legendary pianist, teacher and composer Seymoure Bernstein performing with Musica Viva’s  Artistic Director Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez and two Musica Viva NY soloists.  The program includes piano performances and Lieder by Schumann, Schubert and other composers. Concerto Köln at Lincoln Center

 

On January 24, at 7:30 pm Germany’s Concerto Köln will perform at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, conjuring Vivaldi’s spring birdsongs, summer storms, fiery harvest festivities, and unsettling winter winds. Known for their electrifying performances, these “early-music subversives” (New York Times) shed new light on Vivaldi’s famous concertos.

The One and Only Supergroup Mandoki Soulmates in New York!

 

The Mandoki Soulmates are a band of legends including Nick Van Eede of Cutting Crew, Bobby Kimball of Toto, Chris Thompson of Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, Mark Hart & John Helliwell of Supertramp, Bill Evans, Randy Brecker, Cory Henry, Till Brönner, and Klaus Doldinger. They’ll make their US debut at the Beacon Theatre on January 29th, in celebration of the 2018 Grammy week and to benefit MusiCares.
