The Permanent Observer Mission of Spain to the OAS, the Permanent Mission of Peru to the OAS, and AMA | Art Museum of the Americas is thrilled to invite you to a performance by Ensamble Herencia: Walter Avalos, Fernando Cabrejo, Billy Castillo, Tito Monsante, and Fabiola Plaza, under the direction and production of Billy Castillo. This very special concert will showcase the great significance of the cultural encounters between Spain and Peru, through the universal language of music. The adoption and variations of traditional instruments, from the Spanish guitar and its derivations, to the criolla guitar and the charango, join us in experiencing influences over Spanish and Peruvian folklore. The Ensemble Herencia will highlight the evolution of the Peruvian Cajón, adopted first to flamenco rhythms and then worldwide. Musicians ranging in age from 25 to 69, and of various national backgrounds, come together to bring the rich experience of their music to the AMA.
