Camp Artscape
featuring the work of Anna Fine Foer

Featuring Israeli/American artist Anna Fine Foer, Camp Artscape plays on the theme of "camp" by bringing together 30 different artists who work with fibers, craft, and found materials. Anna Fine Foer works with maps in collages to create imaginary landscapes with mystical, scientific, and ecological themes, exploring how we, as humans, navigate both the natural and man-made worlds. Her work has appeared at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Maryland Governor’s Mansion, and is in permanent collection of the Haifa Museum of Art and the Beer-Sheva Biblical Museum.

The Women's Balcony

When the women’s balcony in their synagogue collapses, the congregation of a devout Orthodox community in Jerusalem fall into crisis in this rousing, good-hearted tale about women speaking truth to patriarchal power. The Women’s Balcony is a dramatic comedy about community, old traditions and values and the power of women to keep all of these together in the face of modern extremism.

Reel Israel DC presents: Harmonia

Nominated for four Israeli Academy Awards and a selection of the 2017 Washington Jewish Film Festival, Harmonia is a modern adaptation of the mythological triangle between the childless Abraham and Sarah and young Hagar, set in the Jerusalem Philharmonic. Harmonia uncovers the metaphoric emotional roots of the ancient conflict between the two peoples living in Jerusalem, now seeking harmony through a dramatic encounter between Western and Eastern music.
