JAZZ: Dan Barta & Robert Balzar Trio
On June 9, from 5-8:30 pm, seven-time Czech Grammy-winner Dan Bárta and the exceptional Robert Balzar Trio bring their smooth jazz to the National Gallery of Art's Sculpture Garden. The group is comprised of Dan Bárta (singer), Robert Balzar (double bass), Jiří Levíček (piano), and Kamil Slezák (drums). Unwind in the garden listening to the top performers of the Czech jazz scene. Free Admission. FILM: Kolya 
On June 13, at 6 pm, the Czech Embassy will screen Kolya (Kolja) as part of the V4 Film Series.  The Oscar-winning film unhinges the heart as a bachelor and boy must come to terms with living together. Sweet, subtle moments powerfully unfold the story that reveals a bond that touches the soul forever.This year marks the 20th anniversary since the film received the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, 1997. LIONS OF CZECH FILM: How to Shake a Bride
On June 14, at 8 pm, the Avalon Theatre will screen How to Shake a Bride (Jak se zbavit nevěsty) as part of the Lions of Czech Film Series. In this romantic comedy, a pastry shop owner thinks she may be reuniting with her ex-husband, only to learn that he plans on marrying another. To top it off, the couple wants her to make the wedding cake. FILM AND BEER SERIES: A Night at Karlstein
On June 20, at 7 pm, Bistro Bohem will screen A Night at Karlstein (Noc na Karlštejně) as part of the ongoing film and beer series. In this comedy, King Charles has prohibited women from entering the castle, but his young wife misses him and decides to dress as a page and sneak inside. PRAGUE-NY EFFECTS: 
On June 25, at 3 pm, String Noise - a classical, avant-punk violin duo comprised of violinists Conrad Harris and Pauline Kim - will perform a program by Czech composers including The Long Sentence II, the newest work of Czech contemporary composer Michal Rataj.
