The DC Jazz Festival, one of America's premier summer music events, welcomes Korean piano sensation Youngjoo Song and her international septet to the festival's main stage at Yards Park on the Capital Riverfront in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, June 18 at 4pm! 

 

Presented in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center, The Youngjoo Song Septet features Korean and American musicians led by the unique talent of pianist Youngjoo Song, two-time winner at the Korean Music Awards and a graduate of both the Berklee College of Music and Manhattan School of Music. The ensemble will perform a mixture of jazz styles, included original works by Song from her successful career of more than 10 years. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy an entire day of fantastic jazz music in an idyllic riverside setting, capped by the 4 pm performance set of The Youngjoo Song Septet!

Two acclaimed, cutting-edge jazz ensembles, The Youngjoo Song Septet and Otherworld jazz quartet, meet for a groundbreaking joint performance, Jazz Brings Us Together. These two sensational groups will meet for the first time to introduce and blend their unique styles of contemporary jazz in a free performance at An Die Musik Live in Baltimore, Maryland on Friday, June 16, presented in partnership with the D.C. Jazz Festival as a Fishman Embassy Series event. Details & RSVP here

 

The Youngjoo Song Septet is led by New York-based Korean jazz pianist Youngjoo Song, a graduate of Sookmyung Women's University, the Berklee College of Music, and the Manhattan School of Music. She quickly climbed Korea's jazz charts after her debut a decade ago, and has performed with prominent jazz artists from Korea and the United States. She headlined the Blue Note Jazz Festival in New York, among other major events, and twice won for Best Jazz and Crossover Album at the Korean Music Awards.
