The Embassy of the Czech Republic invites you to the panel discussion “Charles University—From the Middle Ages to the 21st Century,” on December 1, 2016, at 7 pm. The discussion will focus on how Charles University in Prague has transformed from an ancient medieval university into a modern educational institution of the 21st century. The panelists will further speak about study abroad opportunities that the university offers for international students. Currently, there are more than 7,000 international students, including five hundred students from the United States.
About the Charles University:
Charles University, founded in 1348 by Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, is the oldest university in Central and Eastern Europe. The university has traditionally been the largest higher education facility in the Czech Republic. Currently, it has over 53,000 students—roughly a sixth of all students in the Czech Republic—enrolled in more than 300 accredited degree programs that offer over 642 different courses.
