The monthly French Cinémathèque series at the Avalon Theatre, in partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, presents the screening of the 2015 film The Student and Mr. Henri by Ivan Calbérac.

Henri, an elderly cantankerous, lets out a room in his large apartment to Constance, a young woman who enrolls at a university in the French capital.

Bitterly opposed to the relationship between his son Paul and the flighty Valérie, Henri proposes a pact to his new tenant: he offers a free room if she can seduce Paul, in order to rid him of the daughter-in-law he despises.
