Calling all jazz lovers! On Thursday, September 22, German-born pianist, composer, and recording/performing artist Monika Herzig will make her debut at the German-American Heritage Museum of the USA™. Monika’s performance at GAHM will be part of an international tour titled The Whole World in Her Hands.

Monika has been vocal in highlighting the roles of women in jazz for a number of years. Together with her troupe of international women from a diverse range of countries, she will challenge what has traditionally been a male-dominated realm. With a faculty position at Indiana University, where she received her doctorate in Music Education and Jazz Studies, Monika continues to inspire young women to achieve their dreams in the music industry. Nancy Ann Lee of the magazine Jazz Times comments that “Distinctive originals and well-chosen standards reveal Herzig’s warmhearted, reflective side and her cleverly playful nature.”

This is an event you would not want to miss!
