Join us for the opening of The Prismatic, a new contemporary art exhibition that explores the universal human tension between self and other, individual and group, and private and public, through innovative mixed media and installation works from seven accomplished artists. The evening will include in-person introduction by the artists and an opening reception for all guests. 

Each artist is a member of The Prismatic, a creative collective that aims to exhibit the diversity of the human condition, like a prism refracting light into myriad colors. This self-titled exhibition is divided into two distinct camps on the core theme of individuality: those who embrace the life around them, and those who stand alone.

Nina Cho, a sculptor and furniture designer, Yunjung Kang, an installation artist, Jin Kim, an object collector, and June Lee, a figurine maker, comprise the embracers, with a visual language of counterbalance, intimacy, subtlety, and accumulation. Conversely, graphic artist Hwan Jahng, ceramistYunwook Mun, and multimedia sculptor Yoenhee Kim represent the struggling yet unbowed loners, who utilize the language of opposition, tension, and contrast. For detailed profiles of each featured artist, visit our website here. 

Coming from vastly different artistic disciplines and socio-regional backgrounds, each member of The Prismatic makes an effort (conscious or unconscious) to either embrace or stand upon what life presents. Together they create an internally cohesive, yet aesthetically dynamic group body of work.
