Bistro Bohem will screen the Czech classic black comedy How to Drown Dr. Mráček, the Lawyer (Jak utopit Dr. Mráčka aneb Konec vodníků v Čechách) on August 16, at 7 pm, as part of their ongoing film and beer series!

The film follows a group of water sprites living in Prague and facing extinction due to the planned demolition of their home next to the Vltava River by housing officer—Dr. Mráček. Water sprites, immortal humanoids, can turn into fish and travel through the plumbing. Mr. Wassermann (Miloš Kopecký), who uses his wife’s family as his servants, leads the group. They determine that the only way to stop the demolition of their beloved home is to drown Dr. Mráček (Jaromír Hanzlík). When Dr. Mráček falls in love with Jana (Libuše Šafránková), niece of Wassermann, things get a bit complicated.
