Calling all K-Culture fanatics! Take a deep dive into the world of Korean pop culture with K-Pop Academy DC, an exclusive course of dance, vocal, and cultural workshops for the DMV region's biggest Korean pop culture fans. Participants will train with professional instructors from Korea to learn the moves and sounds of the worldwide K-Pop music phenomenon while also exploring other key aspects of Korean culture with fellow fans. 

K-Pop Academy DC features:
  • Train with professional Korean instructors, including from JYP Entertainment
  • The 6-week program includes 2 weeks of dance training and 2 weeks of vocal training
  • A special 1-week focus on K-Dramas in Hallyu

K-Pop Academy DC is open to all local fans of Korean culture. There is no cost to apply or participate, but only the most passionate, enthusiastic, and driven applicants will be invited to take part in the program. Applications will be evaluated based on responses in the form. Selected applicants will be notified immediately after the application deadline on July 12. A note regarding location/schedule: K-Pop Academy DC will meet 3 times per week, generally on weekday evenings and possibly occasional weekends, at a dance/rehearsal studio in the DC metropolitan area startingJuly 18. The exact meeting days of the week and studio location have not yet been finalized, but will be announced soon! It is the responsibility of each participants to be able to attend all scheduled meetings. Those interested in participating are encouraged to submit their application now!

Background
In just a few years, K-Pop Academy has grown from a single local program into a global outreach network offered at Korean Cultural Centers around the world, now in partnership with Sejong University in Korea. It aims to give fans of all nationalities the chance to experience the intensity and richness of Korean pop culture firsthand. Joining the K-Pop Academy doesn't require special dance, vocal, or other experience-just a passion to learn!
