French Cinémathèque series at the Avalon Theater

The monthly French Cinémathèque series at the Avalon Theatre, in partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, presents the screening of the 2015 film The Great Game by Nicolas Pariser.
Pierre, a one-time best-selling author, lets Joseph, a man who commands the political influence at the heart of the French State, tempt him into ghostwriting a manifesto designed to transform the landscape of French public opinion. Joseph, as a duplicitous government insider, will take advantage of his new protege to achieve his own ends. In the meantime, Pierre will be seduced by Laura, a young extreme-left activist and realizes the life-threatening implications linked to his new job.

This elegant political thriller depicts the manipulation and commitment in the French political landscape.
