Lou Doillon at U St. Music Hall
Fri, May 6

(Re)Discover this Multi-Talented French Artist, and Meet her After the Show.

In 2012, Lou Doillon revealed new facets of her talent.

Following a career on theater stages and independent cinema sets, and in front of the greatest photographers' cameras, Lou Doillon then defined and refined her artistry further with her first LP album, Places. She had composed each song carefully in her home, on her acoustic guitar.

Produced by Etienne Daho, Places has been one of the greatest successes of 2012, both critically and commercially, and has been unanimously celebrated for its originality. The album has been certified Double Platinum in France and more than 300.000 copies have been sold worldwide. The album release tour took Lou from New York to Berlin, from Rennes’ Transmusicales Festival to Belfort’s Eurockéennes. She subsequently won a Victoire de la Musique for Best Female Artist of the year.

On Places, Etienne Daho had helped transcend Lou’s acoustic compositions; for her new tracks, another goldsmith was needed to go electric, and to succeed in bringing forth what she had in mind very precisely: a heavy blues-folk sound, cinematographic, deep and luminous at the same time.

Lou Doillon found this sound working closely with the artist Taylor Kirk, aka Timber Timbre. This past winter, Lou and Taylor secluded themselves in Montreal recording studio Hotel2Tango and co-produced eleven new tracks for her upcoming album, to be released on October 9th, 2015.
