The Cultural Services of the French Embassy supports 
Filmfest DC, the Washington, DC International Film Festival, which celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Two films will be presented at the Embassy of France.

The Measure of a Man (La Loi du Marché) by Stéphane Brizé

At the age of 51, Thierry, a laid-off factory worker starts a new job that brings him face to face with a moral dilemma. How much will he accept to keep his job? Main actor Vincent Lindon won the award for Best Actor at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival this film which presents an environment that challenges a man’s integrity and self-respect.

The Innocents (Les innocentes) by Anne Fontaine

Mathilde, a young French Red Cross doctor, is on a mission to help World War II survivors in Poland. She soon discovers that several nuns are pregnant and unable to reconcile their condition with their faith. Based on the case of Madeleine Pauliac, this drama encapsulates the various crises of faith that emerge when a house of God is ravaged by war.
