Divine Comedy Heaven, Purgatory and Hell Revisted by Contemporary African Artists.

The exhibit, curated by internationally acclaimed writer and art critic Simon Njami, uses Dante
Alighieri's epic poem written in the 14th century as a take off for 40 of some of the most dynamic contemporary artists, of multiple religions and cultures, from 19 African nations and the diaspora

to interrogate the concepts of heaven, purgatory and hell - or good, bad and in between.

Thank you to AFDC student and member Candace LaRocca for leading these French language tours!
