Divine Comedy Heaven, Purgatory and Hell Revisted by Contemporary African Artists.

The exhibit, curated by internationally acclaimed writer and art critic Simon Njami, uses Dante
Alighieri's epic poem written in the 14th century as a take off for 40 of some of the most dynamic
contemporary artists, of multiple religions and cultures, from 19 African nations and the diaspora
to interrogate the concepts of heaven, purgatory and hell - or good, bad and in between.

Thank you to AFDC student and member Candace LaRocca for leading these French
language tours!

"OSS 117 - LOST IN RIO" SCREENING

International Spy Museum

800 F Street NW

August 11 | 6:30 pm

It’s 1967, and a former National-Socialist is hiding
out in South America holding a damaging list of World
War II French collaborators.  There is only one man
France can trust to track him down:  secret agent
Hubert Bonisseur de la Bath, codename OSS 117.

This spy spoof takes full advantage of retro-chic and
all the charm of a Gaelic Bond.  Along with the
evening’s screening of this sequel to Cairo, Nest of
Spies, enjoy popcorn and sparkling French soda
almost as bubbly as Agent 117 himself !
