EXHIBIT: SEEWAY - CANADIAN ARTIST WANDA KOOP'S REFLECTION OF THE ST. LAWRENCE SEAWAY

Washington, DC, May 12, 2015 -- The Embassy of Canada is proud to be hosting the SEEWAY exhibit by contemporary Canadian artist Wanda Koop.

SEEWAY follows a Canadian Steamship Line ocean freighter down the St. Lawrence Seaway, which Koop captures through a series of luminous photos and painted works.

Koop’s contemporary artwork has been exhibited in more than 50 major solo exhibitions. Beyond the National Gallery of Canada, the Winnipeg-native’s artwork has been displayed by the Musée d’Art Contemporain de Montréal, the Reykjavik Museum in Iceland, the Shanghai Museum of Modern Art in China, and the Caldic Collection in the Netherlands.

The Embassy will host 16 pieces from the SEEWAY collection until September 4, 2015.

We invite you to enjoy the exhibit and experience the beauty of the St. Lawrence Seaway.

The Embassy’s gallery is open to the public, free of charge, Monday through Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm.
