Cute Character Bento
Photo Exhibition, 2015

March 13 - 28

The Consulate-General of Japan in Los Angeles (http://www.la.us.emb-japan.go.jp/index.htm) and BentoUSA (www.bentousa.com) recently co-hosted an online contest to see who could create the cutest, best decorated bento (Japanese box lunch) characters. Contestants submitted photos of their cute and creative bento characters decorated in food containers, and The Japanese Consulate and BentoUSA along with honorary judge Ochikeron, a Japanese YouTube personality and bento expert (www.youtube.com/user/ochikeron), selected the top 10 finalists.

From March 13 through March 28, the Japan Foundation, Los Angeles and The Consulate-General of Japan in Los Angeles will hold a photo exhibition of these 10 finalists' entries. Don't miss the opportunity to see these highly creative, cute characters rendered in foodstuffs!

The opening reception on Friday, March 13 will begin at 1:30pm in the JFLA Auditorium and will include a lecture by Ms. Sirinut "Jee Jee" Donham of BentoUSA, followed by a bento arrangement demonstration by Yoko Isassi (www.ifoodstory.com).
