Turkey’s Transitions: Integrity, Inclusion, Institutions Flagship Report

Monday Feb. 23 at 12:30 PM in J1-050

Steady growth over the past decades has brought Turkey to the threshold of high-income status, prosperity has been shared, and the size of the middle-class was doubled, according to a new World Bank report, Turkey’s Transitions: Integration, Inclusion, Institutions. However, challenges remain. The discussion will revolve around Turkey’s experience in the transition from lower- to higher middle-income. Discussants will examine what worked well, what other countries can learn from this, and what needs to change for Turkey to avoid remaining stuck at middle income level.
